Editorial Reviews

Review

Necromancer gives readers what they've long waited for -- a rousing conclusion to the trilogy begun in Nomadin and continued in NiDemon. Put this trilogy on your 'must-keep' shelf. Enjoy! --Robert E. Vardeman: Author of The Cenotaph Road Series

His only hope lies with a horribly deformed child he unknowingly maimed, and a mystical woman whose past is secretly entwined with his. If he succeeds, he may never see his home again. If he fails, he will forever be known as . . . the Necromancer.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best trilogys, November 11, 2009

I am not sure why this trilogy never caught on main stream, but it should have. A definite read! Necromancer caps the story of Ilian Woodhill off perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The close to a great trilogy, November 18, 2008
By Mercedes (Colorado, USA) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book takes place after Ilein and Windy go into the crossing. Although it's not what they thought. They are taken to a evil deformed land ruled by the OneGod. Ilein is told he was there 2000 years earlier and there is only 1 wizardress left. A young Watcher named Kale will find Ilein and lead him out of the Descreation. Kale is a perfect example of the deformities the OneGod has created in his world. However, these visual disturbances do nothing to hinder Kale's use of the Breaching Arts and protecting Ilein. On their adventures you'll meet cyclops and Rose. Who is Rose? Ilein feels something familiar about her. She arrived 30 years ago just like himself, through the crossing.

This book had a feeling of hopelessness about it, as it should. However this feeling will disappear the closer the end gets. This new world was not what Gallund said it would be. Things have went terribly wrong. From the start this is a page turner. Why is this world the way it is? How did Ilein arrive 2000 years earlier? Where's Windy? What happened?

The closer the ending gets the answers are revealing themselves. Also it's shaping up to a big choice Ilein has to make. His friend's or make the world right? It's a hard choice that only the man Ilein has become can make. Did I mention this book was a page turner?

Many of the characters have secrets in this book, Kale, Globe, Rose, and the OneGod. Telling anything else will reveal too much.

My only complaint with this book, it wasn't edited very well. There are many spots where the wrong word is used or missing or the wrong gender is referenced. However, this is easily overlooked because as the conclusion to this fantastic triology is coming to a close the reader hungers to see what happens next.

Read this trilogy, it's great, young and old. A keeper to be read again.
