Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Set in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley District, as well as infesting throughout the City, Desi Marquiso - the protagonist and essentially the ardent spokesperson for the ideology of art for the sake of art - struggles between college, work, and his failed relationship with his true love, Elena Marie. Desi takes the reader through a fierce twenty-four hours filled with interminable spells of poetic creation and provocatively intoxicating mistakes - the same mistakes willing college students generally make today. His love for poetry eventually pulls him through his poor judgements and leads him back to the Faith on which he was raised.

The essential purpose of this novel: Show readers that everyone is a poet, even if the person doesn't write.

About the Author
Tony Richard Rodriguez was born in Fremont, California on August 22, 1977. With a degree in Liberal Studies, he graduated from San Francisco State University in 2002. "The Disappearance and the Slow Awakening" is his first novel.

Fun read! I've never been to San Francisco, but after reading this book I can say that I have, mentally. Rodriguez introduces his first work with great pride and curious inebriation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Literature in its prime!
A promising writer who challenges reality and literature. Rodriguez touched my soul, and kissed my dreams. A true genuine writer! Kudos
