Editorial Reviews

Review
"John Wyckoff literally wrote the book [the first edition]on how to run a motorcycle dealership." -- Robin Hartfiel, Publisher/Editor, Mototcycle Product News

"[Dealers] need a dose of John at least once a year." -- Bob Dron, President, Bob Dron Harley-Davidson & Big Dog, Oakland, CA

Product Description
Looking for better performance from your dealership? John Wyckoff literally wrote the book on running a successful motorcycle dealership back in the mid-1980s. He called it Mind Your Own Business. A lot has changed since then (and some has not).

In this new book, MYOB-2 Mind Your Own Business, 2nd Edition: The Complete Guide to Profitable Powersports Dealerships, John delivers more than 100 pages of new insights and information gained in another 20 years of experience in the industry. He covers the many changes, such as the expansion of dealerships from motorcycles to related powersports (like ATVs and watercraft) and the impact of computer management tools and Internet marketing. He even provides guidance on dealing with the behavior tendencies of your employees and your customers.

Starting out with help in taking a hard look at where your dealership is now, the book provides questionnaires, forms, and guidelines, along with practical "real-world" advice, that will help you improve your bottom line -- starting NOW.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great training aid for staff, May 6, 2005
By Thunderon2weelz (California) - See all my reviews
This little gem is great for training new staff. I needed something to refer back to so its not just me all the time telling them how to do it. I've been reading Wyckoff's columns for years. I didn't know he had a book until I started looking online for something to train new people. Getting the customer to the cash register before heading out the door is always the challenge. This book suggests methods to cure that ailment. I just ordered another one for the service manager. He was flipping through my copy and I thought - if he's interested better strike while the iron is hot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wyckoff covers all the bases, May 13, 2005
By Jeff SKI Kinsey (Hilton Head Island, SC USA) - See all my reviews
As with all books, there are some great nuggets of wisdom in Wyckoff's guide to PROFITABLE powersports dealerships. I took away several ideas that are worth many times the price of admission.

Wyckoff even used one of my favorite lines, that common sense is not all that common! Consider this a great book of ckecklists. Lists of basics that every dealership needs to review. Stuff that one might just forget when they get busy.

Don't get so busy that you fail to check this book out.
