Editorial Reviews

Product Description
The United States and China-two superpowers, two economic systems, two political systems, two unique philosophies, and one big mess! The Tao of Mao reveals four false dichotomies-Communism and Capitalism, Dictatorship and Democracy, Education and Entertainment, and Revolution and Religion-and what each duo dangerously shares in common as they play out within and between the U.S.A and China. The Tao of Mao combines witty essays, hilarious comics, and profound poetry to poignantly point out the deeply ironic parallel between the European/American Industrial Revolution and China's Great Leap Forward. Both revolutions broke their great promise of progress by paving the way to a rampant brand of consumerism designed to feed human addiction while neglecting our most basic needs and robbing the natural environment. Ending on a positive note, however, The Tao of Mao concludes by offering a fresh solution to stale problems, wise answers to smart questions, and sound advice to the inquiring collective mind of Homo sapiens.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Tao of Mao, ABCrane's Poignant Political Satire, December 11, 2007
By I. K. Heller "ABCrane" (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
San Francisco, CA March 10, 2008--Publishing company GungHo Pages, LLC announced today it will publish author ABCrane's exciting new book, The Tao of Mao: How Capitalist America and Communist China Paved the Way to Each Other, an entertaining and informative political satire guaranteed to stimulate and delight intellectual, academic and mainstream readers of both quality non-fiction and fiction books.

Available in print and various e-book formats, The Tao Of Mao portrays what ABCrane calls, "A combination of witty essays, hilarious comics, and profound poetry to poignantly point out the deeply ironic parallel between the European/American Industrial Revolution and China's Great Leap Forward."

Serious stuff is this, but Miss Crane's tome is also filled with a lot of fun. Full color comics capture snapshots of Communist Mao discussing US-China relations with Capitalist America's popular icons George Bush, Bill Gates, Paris Hilton, Rich Dad, Jesus Christ and many others. Concluding with her "Little Red Poem", Crane so succinctly sums up the dark ironic hypocrisy of two ideologies at war, "Capitalism the flower/Communism the Stem/Capitalism owns the factories/Communism sweats in them." These are but a few of the many marvelous highlights from ABCrane's enjoyable-yet-educational book. For originality, humor, depth of thought and reading pleasure, alone, The Tao Of Mao is worthy of a Pulitzer!

Ayman Sawaf, author of Executive EQ: Emotional Intelligence in Leadership and Organization, wrote this: "Serious yet funny, thoughtful but playful, dark but light, these comics and commentaries will make you laugh, make you cry, but, most importantly, spur you to think, act, and meditate your way out of illusion and into a near-future reality of viable and emotion-
ally intelligent solutions!"

Writer, Artist, Philosopher, Innovator, and Entrepreneur, ABCrane lives with her friends in San Francisco, California, and is currently completing another book that she calls, "My second literary labor of love and philosophical gift to the human race." With a degree in Sociology and a double major in Creative Writing (Binghamton University in New York), Crane is the conceptual founder of Project Integrity International, a revolutionary philosophy and plan for a more sustainable and egalitarian global economy.

GungHo Pages, LLC is proud to publish and distribute literature and fiction for the digital age as well as meet traditional print publishing venues. PDAs (Pocket PC/Palm), e-book readers, cell phones and computers, and audio books (m-books) will be available as well for select titles, and can be heard on any MP3 player. The Tao Of Mao is available in both paperback and e-book formats at www.taoofmao.com, www.amazon.com, www.barnesandnoble.com, www.dieselebooks.com, and many other online and national outlets and bookstores, including San Francisco's famous City Lights Bookstore and Berkeley's Comic Relief.
