5.0 out of 5 stars Girls Rock, December 6, 2008
Girls Rock really does rock. I am finding that this series is dynamo of virtue packaged in an easy style that speaks the language of today's girl. So often, girls think they have to choose between being cool and being holy. This book shows that it's a great day to be a girl and it can be done gracefully on God's terms. Girls Rock and the whole series is especially for girls who you think would not like it because they probably need it most. Often, girls just don't understand how to best develop their inner beauty. This series brings out the best in girls and lifts them closer to God where they will feel truly loved and beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Girls do Rock!, December 18, 2008
What a relief to find books that give simple, consistent messages of what it means to be a "Daughter of the King." A phrase used throughout the series that gives it real meaning. This particular book, and the Modern and Modest one, have become the hottest items in our home. The explanation of a different virture in each book along with the 'Things to Think About' really are my favorite sections. My girls love the little stories about the saints in each book. They also love the quizzes which I think are fun too.

Even though they would like to consider themselves sophisticated, the teens like to know they are royalty. How can I tell? They keep going back and rereading. There is comfort in that knowledge.

If you are looking - or should I say longing - for a somewhat simple but fun book that has a message you always wished someone besides yourself was giving your daughter (or granddaughter) - this is it!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED BY MOM & DAUGHTER ALIKE!!!, March 16, 2009
By Jane "Jane Eire" (Kaukauna, WI) - See all my reviews
My 12-year-old daughter received this book as a gift. At the end of the day, she told me she had read it from cover to cover. (She has read it several more times since) She told me she would like to receive more titles in the series as a gift, or she would buy them with her own money. This is a pretty strong statement, because our kids receive a very minimal amount of presents for birthdays and Christmas, and they also do not have a large amount of spending money. I knew for sure that this book had made a big impression on her. This book reinforces what we are trying to teach at home - that she is a precious child of God, "a daughter of the King." We have had many great conversations following up on themes in the book. She is much more comfortable discussing her feelings in regards to issues at school, her changing body and what the Church teaches about our dignity. She even wants to go on a Mother-Daughter retreat! Thank you so much for making this series!! It is a wonderful resource for families.
