3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat dissappointed, April 16, 2009

The information included in the book is very generic. I was looking for more information about excursions at each port. This book only hits a few highlights that you could find in any tourist book. I was hoping it would have information about private/local operators that offered tours and excursions that included contact numbers.

If you are looking for an overview of an Alaskan cruise this would be a good book to start with, but you may need to look elsewhere for more specific information to plan you port experiences.

Every first time cruiser to Alaska should read at least one book summarizing the experience and ports. This one will not dissapoint.

Going back again this summer to Alaska. This time we are getting prepared ahead of time for the events we want to see. This little book contains a wealth of information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful book on Alaska and Tracy Arm
Tracy Arm is by far the most scenic trip there is. On my trip I saw unbelievable calving glaciers, bears, humpback whales, killer whales, beautiful waterfalls and much more. Read more
