I read the book in two sittings. When I started to read, I just could not stop. The life situations of the characters really opened my eyes to both sides of the domestic violence equation. I had never really thought about the struggles of those who seek to assist individuals who are victims of domestic violence. I could tell the author was well-versed in the area of domestic violence. I found the book to be well-written and would recommend it to anyone whether or not the person has experienced domestic violence. The book was certainly an eye-opener for me. C. Blake
Invisible Chains is a powerful look into the world of domestic violence. The author creates a tension throughout the plot that captures you at once and pulls you along for the ride. I read it in one sitting...couldn't put it down. This one has everything...mystery, a hint of romance, terror, violence, a touch of humor and well drawn, believable characters who could be your sisters, neighbors or co-workers.
It's hard to believe that this is a first novel. It is obvious that the author has experience and expertise in the field of family violence...this book should be required reading for everyone in that field as well as victims and their families. However, it is also a great read for anyone who enjoys a mystery thriller that grabs you with the first sentence and doesn't let go until the bone-chilling finish. T, McFadden
Product Description
Maddy Tyler has a new problem. Someones stalking her.
Is it the abusive partner of one of her clients?
Or her own abusive first husband?
Or a complete stranger?

Now she juggles the search for her stalker with the constant daily crises at work and home. The stalker may come after her, her daughter or her co-workers.
Dealing with a stalker is the last thing she wants, but she has no choice.
Ironically, Maddy finds herself reacting as many of her clients do minimizing the danger and denying the fearful reality that has intruded into her life. Shes often advised her clients on how to handle stalkers, but having knowledge and applying it are two different things.
Maddys resistance to the seriousness of a stalker is high and like many of her clients she delays taking the necessary measures. Did she wait too long?
Her co-worker, Darcy Palmer, a sometimes over-involved advocate for her clients, nags Maddy to call the police. But Maddy resists. She is reluctant to let anything disturb the cushion of routine she has built around her grief. It is easier to focus on her job and her grief than her own safety. But, eventually the stalkers threats grow more serious and she is forced to take steps to protect herself and her daughter. Desperate danger calls for desperate measures.
Throughout it all, Maddys clients continue to need her help. Women, men, rich, poor, old, young, career oriented, family oriented, single, married you name it and they are represented in her files. All of them have one thing in common they are abused.
