4.0 out of 5 stars Preferable to _Inside MicroStation_, November 13, 2003
By A Customer
Looking to train our user base as part of our V8 migration, we conducted a quick study of the available published books on V8. Bentley's own supplied course material are fine as workbooks, but not much use otherwise and no doubt are gathering dust on many shelves the world over.

Having compared _Harnessing MicroStation_ to _Inside MicroStation_ (by Frank Conforti) we eventually decided to purchase this book in bulk for our students.

In spite of annoyances (like the awful typography and relative lack of reader-friendly illustrations) this is a book which is much more thorough in its treatment of Bentley's flagship new version, and will be of better long-term value to CAD professionals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helped me go from AutoCAD to Microstation, November 21, 2005
By R. Lancaster (Glendale, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I am fairly familiar with AutoCAD but was pretty lost when it came to Microstation. I found this book very helpful to get me up to speed in Mictrostation. With the background I had in AutoCAD I quickly got through most of this book. I spent about 3 days in the book and feel pretty comfortable with the nuts and bolts of Microstation.
