Intention, Gratitude, and Action, January 31, 2005
Slow Down, The Fastest Way To Get Everything You Want by David Essel has seemingly an oxymoron for a title. However, the author, a Lifestyle Coach, speaker and TV/radio host on motivational programming nationally syndicated, shares his personal experiences of pushing too hard and working too many hours before discovering how slowing down can actually help you accomplish your goals and realize your dreams much more effectively and rapidly than stressing yourself with overwork and undue demands. He leaned to quiet his ego and realize that accomplishing more did not always equal success. By forming new habits of daily prayer and meditation, regular exercize and strength training, eating and sleeping correctly for good health and energy, he was able to build his life to be far more satisfying to himself and with time and energy to serve others and to form loving relationships. In his book and his coaching he stresses the three keys of manifesting what you want are Intention, Gratitude, and Action. This book is a wealth of lifestyle secrets for success for anyone who wants a do-it-yourself help plan. An excellent and easy book to read and follow.

A truly valuable gift, December 30, 2004
In his 4th and latest book, "Slow Down: The Fastest Way to Get Everything You Want," David Essel has given us a very valuable gift. David takes us on a journey to examine different areas of our life that we may want to be more successful with, and through his own personal and other people's real-life stories, he helps us to open up our heart, soul and mind to all of the incredible positive changes we can make in every area of our life if we just SLOW DOWN. Unlike other self-help books, David doesn't outline the "answers" to our questions at the end of each chapter, he guides the readers to take a moment or two to "slow down," to recognize our own power of writing, and helps us look deep inside ourselves to answer a few questions about what we have read and how we can pertain this information to make powerful changes in our own lives. I couldn't put David's book down! David Essel is an amazing author, and I am learning to make positive changes in my life every single day by taking a few minutes each day to "slow down."

A Personal Growth Workbook, December 10, 2005
Slow Down is an excellent example of the power and effectiveness in simple and clear communication. David Essel has identified those areas of our lives that define us; spirituality, personal life, career, love, health and, in short form, he has provided us a guide to maximize our potential in each. I've been reading self-help and motivational books for over 30 years and not since "How To Be Your Own Best Friend" has the message that "the answer is within your self and is in your reach" been so succinctly delivered. David exposes self discovery and personal growth for what it is ... a committment to make the journey and do the work to be the best that you can be. This book is a perfect companion for the person who is interested in challenging themselves everyday to be and do their best. It provides the tools for you to do the work that is specific to your life and what you need at this particular moment. I have it on my nightstand and regularly open it to a random spot in the book and review "the basics" and reflect on that area. This exercise has always inspired some fresh and energizing thought. Give the book a try. I'm confident you'll be better off for the experience!
