Review

A very entertaining story filled with hilarity, strong complex characters, love, danger, fear, courage. A Fantastic Tale! Gifted Storytelling! -- New Book Reviews by Ray Ward July 2006

It grabbed my heart from the first and proceeded to take me on an emotional roller coaster ride. -- Kathy Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance: Adored this romantic tale!

Product Description

Aislinn Hennessy's love life was almost laughable, with a trail of disastrous relationships to show for it. She long ago gave up thinking a knight in shining armor was going to sweep her off her feet, but then she never expected to run him off the road either. Sir Dougray Fitzpatrick, Lord of Dunhaven already buried one wife and had no wish for another, but it was foreseen that he would go to the future to seek a vision, a crucial venture to secure his future born. Only he hadn't bargained on it being a woman that would insist on battling against him at every turn. Dougray finds that Aislinn is fearless in the face of an enemy, but shies away from what her heart holds true. Aislinn discovers that Dougray is honest and brave to a fault. He would die for her if necessary. They were thrown together by a twist of fate, a magical mist that sends them back to sixteenth century Ireland where conspiracies, feuds and unexpected violence are commonplace threats, but along the way, they discover a few surprises that neither one expects: a chance for love even when they're Lost in the Mist of Time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Allbooks Reviews recommends this one!, October 2, 2006
Title: Lost in the Mist of Time

Author: Karen Michelle Nutt

"A mist like no other will appear covering ye like it were a woolen blanket, When ye finally come out of its heaviness, ye will be where yer destiny has sent ye."

Dougray Fitzpatrick, Lord of Dunhaven had no idea what the old crone's words meant but he was soon to find out. Centuries forward in time, Aislinn Hennessy is a strong and determined modern woman who seems to have great difficulty with her romantic relationships. Will destiny bring these two together?

Author Karen Nutt has a talent for story telling. Lost in the Mist of Time captures the reader from the first chapter and holds you until the end. Sixteenth century Ireland was a difficult time for the country and its inhabitants. Can a modern woman survive to win the man she loves? Will her presence change the course of history?

Karen Michelle Nutt lives in California with her family. I look forward to more from this talented author.

Research for this book was extensive. Descriptions of the castle, daily life and the interchange between characters are accurate and vivid. Many actual historical figures entwine with Aislinn and Dougray to present a believable and exciting story. Historical fiction fans are going to love this one! Highly recommended by Shirley Roe, Allbooks Review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lost in the Mist of Time, January 5, 2007
This is one of the best time travel books I have ever read. Aislinn, our heroine travels back in time to Ireland through a strange mist with a handsome stranger her family has taken in. She soon adapts to life in sixteenth century Ireland where she faces a tumultuous world that is full of intrigue and mystery.
The handsome stranger, Dougray Fitzpatrick, is everything a girl dreams about in a macho man. It doesn't take long for Dougray and Aislinn to butt heads but of course, they cannot fight their budding attraction to each other. Aislinn soon becomes known as Scathach, a legendary warrior woman and goddess known for her extraordinary fighting skills. Aislinn fits in perfectly with the clan and makes friends by helping others. With her oddly open ways, she soon has the loyalty of Dougray's clan except for a few with betrayal on their minds.
I won't ruin the rest by saying to much, but I found it hard to put this book down and was so sad when I got to the last page. I hope Ms. Nutt continues to write and a sequel would be most welcome by this reader.
The only fault I found in this book is that the editing wasn't the greatest and there were quite a few errors such as punctuation, misspelling and misuse of certain words but other than that I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to escape for awhile into a richly detailed fantasy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost in the Mist of Time is an Excellent book., April 11, 2007
Lost in the Mist of Time by author Karen Michelle Nutt, is an intriguing story based in Ireland during the sixteenth century. Fiction is hard to write, but to write a book that is based on historical facts and then make those facts entertaining is quite challenging. Once you start to read this book you will not be able to put it down, as the characters come alive on the pages. This book is filed with love, danger, fear and courage as well as strong characters and vivid descriptions of Castles in the years gone by. Lost in the Mist of Time is an entertaining book and truly one of the best books that I have read in many years. This book will become a valued addition to any personal library and will be one that you will want to share with others.
