"This spectacular edition is for folk who have a major interest in dermatology. If you are a specialist, this would be a superb addition to your personal library. Primary care doctors with a special interest in dermatology would also hugely benefit from this major reference source. The two volume books are magnificently produced with excellent colour reproductions of images. The volume of information here is immense, detailed and scholarly and has an almost encyclopaedic review of the discipline. Good bye ROOK , The most compact dermatology textbook containing ALL the information within 2 vols is finally here.The book can be said to be the dermatology counterpart of Medicine's Kumar and clark .It has flow charts which help you understand and diagnose various conditions .It also has lots of tabular columns which give you all the facts about a topic (eg ,indications of methotrexate or screening tests done before starting methotrexate for psoriasis )in one single table which makes it very easy for you to retreive what you want in a glance.

The book also has lots of photos about common and rare diseases .The text is easy to read (flows ).This book fills a long felt vacuum among dermatologists of a standard textbook containing all the information ,which is easy to read and yet compact and handy.

My wife developed chronic urticaria, nothing helped, the doctors could not do much. We would stay up all night itching. It got so bad, it was making us miserable. At my wits end, I was combing over all the journal articles I could find, reading every book I could get my hands on. I was slowly starting to make sense of what was going on, and our doctors could not. I finally ordered this book thinking it might have something about CU. It was a little pricey for a graduate student. When I got the book, I was just so amazed at how great it was. A large number of color picture, and it covered chronic urticaria, very thoroughly. It took 3 months of reading journals review articles and other books. Had I had this set, I would of been done in 30 minutes.It has everything you could think of involving the skin you could think of. This book is worth, four times what it costs.I would recommend it for educated people, but not just doctors, and sciencetists.
