Editorial Reviews

Review

This book is an excellent resource for any practicing physician in both primary and secondary care. It is very concise, easy to read and includes the most up to date advances in the therapeutic field.
The online access and the ability to cross reference a treatment option makes this book an ideal choice for any physician. It makes the contents easily and rapidly accessible from any location with an internet access such as outpatient clinics, GP surgeries and ward rounds. The pocket consult technology which allows downloading of excerpts and continually updated drug data content to a handheld device is also a useful bonus.
This is is one of the best resources providing up-to-date, succinct, concrete and practical advice on hundreds of common disorders in a very easy-to-use format.
Dr Nilar Than - Univadis, July 2008

5.0 out of 5 stars Conn's Current Therapy 2008, September 19, 2008
I am prejudiced about this book because my father was Dr.Howard F. Conn. He and my mother traveled around the country in 1947 and spoke with Dr's to see if they had an interest in a general book with contributing authors who are physicians with a specialty. He was well received and had many manuscripts from physicians for the first book in 1949,but had to write many of them himself, until the book became so popular that he was busy full time with editing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, July 2, 2008
By Bretticus "Brett" (Knoxville, TN) - See all my reviews
Every 3 years, I try to make a point to read through an entire text. It is easy reading, and very accurate. My only beef is the grammar. It could have been proofread and corrected. Some of the authors have horrible grammar. One particular article, I believe it was on Salmonella, was a scathing assessment of the overuse of antibiotics. I think that little things like this should have been proofread. Overall, though, 5 stars. I haven't used my online access yet, so I don't know about that. But, I would recommend it for someone wanting to stay up to date with a regimen of reading. It is not as long as Harrison's, and it won't put you to sleep. The organ systems are well organized. I like it better than the other "current" series out there.
