Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Hailed as "the meanest queens in the cafeteria" by the Village Voice and "viciously funny" by The Hollywood Reporter, Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan entertain 3.5 million unique visitors every month via GoFugYourself.com. Their smart, scathing dressing-down of fashion disasters has become a media sensation, with Time dubbing their website one of the fifty coolest blogs and Entertainment Weekly tagging it as one of the staff's twenty-five favorite sites on the Internet.

Now, with The Fug Awards, Heather and Jessica hand out honors such as the Sag Award for most egregious misuse of breasts and the Tanorexia Award for the person most addicted to bronzer. They prove that having an unlimited budget and a coterie of hangers-on is no barrier against committing glaring, eye-stinging sartorial missteps.

No celebrity, no matter how respected or revered, is beyond their reach. Not merely cutting, but also genuinely witty and slyly perceptive, The Fug Awards is celebrity schadenfreude at its hilarious best.

About the Author

Heather Cocks is Texas-born and England-raised, yet somehow ended up with no fun accent. But she did come out of it all with an immense love of meat and potatoes, a healthy respect for Joan Collins, and a talent for playing the recorder, so that helps.

When Jessica Morgan was a student at UCLA, she was known on campus for two things: the huge shrine to Ralph Fiennes in her dorm room, and her ability to make snide comments even in her sleep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laughing at celebrities has never been so funny, February 15, 2008
By Julie Darby "avid reader" (St. Louis, MO United States) - See all my reviews

Even though I read the website by the authors daily, the book covers new ground and tells a story by comparing various hideous examples of different categories of fashion offenders. Go Fug Yourself is a website that daily shows us the horrors that celebrities inflict on us from the red carpet.
I am a huge fan of the website, and the book is a well-constructed laugh riot based on the same snarky commentary Heather and Jessica are famous for.
Worth the penny, get the laughs, hate the outfits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh my God, this book is awesome, February 12, 2008

I love the website, and I LOVE the book! These girls are hysterical. If I wrote the site, I'd end up saying the same thing over and over - these ladies are awesome in their creativity and come up with some of the funniest things.

5.0 out of 5 stars FUGTASTIC, February 14, 2008
By M. Levine (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I was temporarily distracted by the: What Do Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item? call-out on this page that indicated the next logical purchase for most Fug customers would be British SCI FI newcomer, Torchwood [Torchwood - The Complete First Season on DVD]. However, I snapped out of it and remembered how much I LOVE the FUG (!!).

Whether a painful day at work, messy break-up or ridiculous line to commune with your local barrista, these two inspired women have the wit and the words to turn it all around in a single post (or cool new book).

BUY THIS ASAP -- and thumb through it before you get dressed tomorrow...
