About the Author
A past member of the prestigiousChicago Crime Commission, pilot by passion, police officer and licensed privatedetective by vocation, he dabbled in investigations to the age of seventy-one.In the early months of the KoreanWar, he enlisted in the Air Force for four years and relates the experience asa Korean combat veteran and the place where he grew up. When the war ended,before his enlistment was up, he stayed on and became acquainted with AirPolice work. Honorably discharged he came home with four medals that hedescribes as insignificant and began a career in law enforcement.Most of his twenty-six years as apolice officer were spent on the street as a Detective Sergeant and he retiredas a Deputy Chief from the Village of Downers Grove IL. For ten years he was aprivate detective in four Midwest states and he dabbledin investigations for a second ten years in eight Southeast states.He has owned several aircraftfrom a 175 HP cabin Fairchild, (The R46 and Little Louie) up to a 3400 HP twinengine B-25, (Barbie III and Company).
