About the Author
Gilbert Saenz (Pen name: Gil Saenz) is a retired Information Technology Specialist with the government since May of 2004. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Gil attended and graduated from Western International High School in June, 1959. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Personnel Specialist from 1960 to 1963. He received his B.A. with an English Literature major from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. In addition, he completed two years of credits in the post-degree studies program also at Wayne State University. He was employed by the U.S. State Department from 1969-70 and served as a U.S. Diplomatic Courier at the Frankfurt, Germany office. He began publishing his poetry in the mid-1980's but he had been interested in writing and composition since his high school days. One of his most recent collections of poetry is a bilingual (English & Spanish) collection titled, POEMS OF LIFE/Poemas de la vida published by Laredo Publishing, Co., Beverly Hills, California. Today, he belongs to the Downriver Poets & Playwrights group in Wyandotte, Michigan and also to the Poetry Society of Michigan where he is serving as Treasurer.
