Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Following Dr. Paul Nogier's discoveries of Auricular Therapy, many have practiced, taught and researched the phenomena associated with this acupuncture microsystem. Since then, in the United States and much of the world, the familiarity with the simple Chinese ear acupuncture charts and ignorance of the advanced works of Nogier have led many to practice simple forms of Auricular Therapy that lack the sophistication inherent in Nogier's system. You will learn throughout this text of the critical implications that have led Nogier and his colleagues to far advance the correspondence system beyond the simple "inverted fetus". Although most of the world approaches Auricular Therapy from a simplistic single-phase model, understanding the advanced Phases 2 and 3 are critical to improving patient response, especially in chronic, inflammatory and degenerative conditions. Further, understanding the concepts of advanced Auricular Therapy enables the clinician to enhance his/her understanding of the patient's pathophysiology and thus to approach the patient as a true clinician rather than as simply a technician. Drs. Bryan L. Frank and Nader E. Soliman have been highly regarded for their teaching and logical, systematic approach to Auricular Therapy and their text has been long anticipated. Fortunately, the wait is over!

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember Who It's For, April 19, 2006

I was very unhappy with the last review. As an Acupuncturist with years of training this is THE text for Auricular Therapy. This text is not intended for use by the lay-person. Being a nurse in Western Medicine does NOT qualify one to practice acupuncture. If you are a practitioner or student looking for a great source this is a wonderful text.

4.0 out of 5 stars !, July 26, 2006
Excellent book for acupuncturists. It lost one star because they use color coding for some of the diagrams and the diagrams are in black and white! Their Atlas has all the diagrams in color and is also a great book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Auricular Therapy: A Comprehensive Text, January 15, 2006
As a nurse, let alone as a lay person, this book is so technical and full of very poorly unlabled picture diagrams including the fact that all the color coded shaded picture diagrams are printed in black and white, makes it impossible to relate to the reading/studying of this book. Even when used with the Auricular Therapy Reflex Chart it is very difficult to comprehend. I have studied many medical books in my career and this was one of the poorest I have ever dealt with. I was exteremly disappointed in this book and would not recommend it!
