What a tangled web..., October 6, 2006
A true love store between man and woman & parents & child. This is a quick read suspenseful, fast paced, love story. Xavier is in love with Summer but his love runs so deep that he is willing to let her go to spare her his tragic situation. Ryan is in desparate need of love and searches out Summer to find it. As the tale is unspinning, you learn how all characters are connected without knowing it. You understand the love that binds family and the true love between soulmates. You also understand that decisions made early in life all have to come to light and even when things become tragic, it is all done in the name of love. Love also means forgiveness and wounds will have to be mended. This was a fast paced, straight to the point, in your face, not sure how it was going to unravel and hard to figure out before hand where the author was taken you. I really enjoyed it and think that Dwan Abrams did a great job.

You Can't Rush Perfection, May 3, 2007
"Only True Love Waits" opens with Xavier Robert, an aspiring rapper, being diagnosed with testicular cancer. Distressed with the news he was given at the doctor's office, he immediately rushes and breaks his wedding engagement to Summer Love the day before her grand opening of her company, Spa Nevaeh. The story follows Summer, a devout Christian, as she tries to pick up the pieces and move on. At her grand opening, she is pursued by Ryan Kennedy, a CEO of a record label with a dark past. Romance blossoms, but in the meantime, Xavier is going through the last of his treatments and trying to reconcile. Will Summer realize her love for Xavier is still alive and give it second chance? Will Ryan reveal his dark side?
The storyline was very good and so was the plot, but the story was too rushed and bounced from scene to scene. Characters are at one place in time and then you turn the page and it's like three weeks later. Then you turn two more pages and you're somewhere else. I would have liked if the author had followed more on Xavier as he battled cancer and going through the treatments alone and all. It would give the readers a better understanding of his character as well as understanding why he did what he did. Summer's character needed to be developed more because I absolutely could not relate to her or her emotions. I felt confused in some of the scenes and unbelieving in others. I think this novel could have been good with a little more time and effort. "Only True Love Waits" is a promising novel, but in it's current state, I give it 3.5 stars.

Very Entertaining, February 17, 2007
Now, this book that I just finished reading was a great book. I orginally held back reading it until after Valentine's Day because I thought it was going to be a really mushy love story. (Sorry Dwan) Don't get me wrong, I love the mushy love stories, just wasn't feeling the love! LOL
But this book wasn't mushy like I thought. This was Dwan Abrams book titled "Only True Love Waits". She had a serious love story going on, yet it dealt with real realtionship issues. Issues that affect many in the world. It's a story of love, realtionships between mates, friends and family. I love how she showed the high moral standards of the main character, Summer. It was constantly bought up throughout the story. She let you see who the people truly are and where they came from. The book started off with a 'bang'! I loved how in the end you found out just how all of her characters were connected.
I must say this novel inspired many feelings of love, shock, surprise, hurt and even to some point anger. She used great descriptions when describing their emotions and feelings when things happened to each of the characters in the story! Great work!!
Thank You Dwan for sharing your work!!!!!
