Forensic Pathologist and former homicide detective Delaney has been recently appointed Chief Medical Examiner despite the fact that she is relatively a newcomer to the field. The past year had been exceptionally difficult. She faced several challenges, one of which was a staff doctor, Margaret Vessy, who was passed over for the position of Chief in favor of Delaney. When it is discovered that the lead detective on the case, Lieutenant Detective Kabala, is connected to at least one victim, he is taken off the case but joins forces with Delaney to follow new leads. Together they uncover two suspects, neither of which is male.
