The Shaman and the Rose
A review by the author

As a reader I was enthralled by the glorious worlds created within worlds by fantasy author Roger Zelazny. As a writer I have been influenced by such diverse authors as Jack Kerouac, Mickey Spillane, Steven King and many others.
With my latest novel, The Shaman and the Rose I have endeavored to weave magical realms with reality by centering parts of the fable within our own sphere of existence. The result is an epic fantasy adventure where angels take up arms beside men and wizards join with the last elfin born to the race of elves. Together they will face the four horsemen of the apocalypse and Satan who has been set free after two thousand years of imprisonment in Dudael. With the great destroyer wavering between sides and influencing all to gain his own agenda, the outcome of Shaman is never quite certain. This is a fable of love and betrayal, where good and evil are twin sides of the same coin.
Some fantasies are not meant to be forgotten but live forever in the hearts of men. I hope that you will open its pages and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not waste your money!, January 9, 2009
I should have known when one of the 5 star reviews was written by the author. Perhaps this is a good story, but who knows? The formatting is so distracting/awful/incorrect that I could not make it through 5 pages. I would have liked to give this book a chance, but instead, could only give it one star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enthrallingly Brilliant!, January 30, 2008
Usually when I read a book I take my time and read it over the course of a few days. I sat down one afternoon and read The Shaman and the Rose in just one day. I found I could not put it down. The overall story itself was enough to catch my attention, but the relationship between the characters made it that much more rich. I found myself caring about what happened to the characters and rooting for one side over the other. Incredibly detailed and full of twists and turns. When people say "page turner" they must be referring to this book!
