From AudioFile
Nancy investigates a break-in at a fashion boutique in River Heights with the help of friends George, Bess, and Ned. Although Rebecca Rogers has a lovely lilting voice, one is at times confused as to who is speaking. Further, aspects of this production, which updates the series, can be jarring for earlier generations of readers. The new Nancy breaks into an apartment and hacks into a computer! On the package she is a young tween-ager yet Rogerss Nancy sounds older and has friends in college. Boyfriend Ned sounds slightly condescending and too sultry. The audience for this listening experience would typically be younger than its story or delivery allows. DRESSED TO STEAL lacks the wonderful campiness that makes Nancy Drew appealing to generations.
