3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, August 16, 2006
While this book does cover many hikes in and around Whistler, some basic features of a hiking book were missing. First, maps for some hikes were missing, and were inadequate for other hikes. Some hikes, such as the Ancient Cedars Trail, had no directions to the start of the hike. Also, there was no overview map that pinpointed the hike locations. I would not recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A top pick for destination-bound visitors, March 3, 2006
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
Jack Christie is a Tourism B.C. Media Award winner and a long-time travel writer who is especially passionate about British Columbia, so it's no surprise a wonderful guide to the wilderness area of Whistler comes from his experienced hand. From hiking and snow sports to fishing, rafting and nature viewing, here are trail highlights, maps, photos, and all the access information you'll need to enjoy the Whistler region of British Columbia. Activities for active adults and kids alike make The Whistler Book An All-Season Outdoor Guide a top pick for destination-bound visitors.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for anyone going to whistler, June 1, 2005
I ordered this book a few weeks before I took my family to whistler and was glad I did. There was a plethora of information in there that only somebody familiar with the whistler area would know about. I booked my vacation online at http://www.whistler.com and it was great to know what kind of activities where available before reserving them over the phone with the reservation agents (although their website is very informative also). Once there I found the printed maps from the book to be indispensable in navigating whistler's extensive valley trail system. I would have liked to see more information on all of the whistler golf courses but all-in-all this book made my first whistler vacation an experience to remember. I am definitely going back in the winter season to ski whistler.
