Editorial Reviews

Review
"Jane Cicchetti has made a brilliant integration of homeopathy, Jungian psychotherapy, dream analysis, and alchemical symbolism. She picks up where Edward C. Whitmont left off. Her book is eminently useful for homeopaths and others interested in the relationship betweem the psyche and healing."
- V. Walter Odajnyk

"Jane Cicchetti's new book is one of the first to bring homeopathy in line with modern psychology and with Jungian psychology in particular. It brings much clarity to the subjects and helps us to understnad their complementary nature."
- Jan Scholten, M.D.

Product Description
This book explains homeopathy in the framework of Jungian psychology, and stakes a claim that the mind-body relationship is essential for a new paradigm of medicine. In understanding such things as the role of the shadow in healing, the relationship between the ego and the transpersonal self, and the application of dream analysis, medical practitioners can better address present-day health challenges. Included are client interview techniques, natural remedies, and a bibliography and glossary of Jungian terms.

5.0 out of 5 stars JOIN AN ADVENTURE INTO HEALING!, December 24, 2003
By Michael Linden (Ashland, OR USA) - See all my reviews
Ever wonder just where it is that alchemy, homeopathy, dream work, and Jungian analysis meet... or if indeed they do? In Jane Cicchetti's world they meet AND create overlays of healing power that relate directly to our bodies, our minds, and our spirits. The result is a marvellous book that is nothing less than a new fount of wisdom and strength for healers, with sometimes startling, always penetrating, observations about the nature of dis-ease and the healing process. This is a seminal book that invites you into the author's soul to join her exploration, and it offers you new ways to view the familiar and become more effective in all that you do. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dreams, Symbols, & Homeopathy, December 16, 2003
By ken silvestri (Morristown, NJ) - See all my reviews
Jane Cicchetti's wonderfully and clearly written book gives us a profound framework for us to continue to grow and explore the topic of psyche and soma. It is ideally useful for those practicing homeopathy, but equally interesting for those who are interested in the frontiers of mind-body medicine.

To Ccchetti "dreams are the doorway to the symbolic realm of the psyche, a powerful force undelying human consciousness (p.5.)" She convincingly describes the need for a synthesis betwen the realm of science and rational thinking and the world of dreams and symbols; a synthesis that calls for us to accept the paradoxes of life. She writes: "Working with dreams requires that we monentarily lead ourselvers into the relam pregnant with new ideas. It is a creative experience that opens the mind to new possibilities and solutions (p.13)"

The books' outline consists of four parts, named after ancient alchemical themes: The Emergence of Opposites, which explores a much needed reiteration of the holistic paradigm underlying homeopathy's theoretical basis. The Mercurial Fountain: The Inner world of the Psyche, puts the Jungian archetypes in general and specifically the archetypes of the shadow, anima/animus and the self into an easily understandable perspective. Part three Decent into the Baths: Moving Toward the union of Opposites, places the use of dreams in case taking in a manner that opens new doors to the collective unconscious and respects constitution and temperament. Lastly Symbolic Materia Medica, is a bonus of new ways to see homeopathic remedies from the perspective of symbols and myth, which very well may be the best posible expression of our quest for greater wholeness.

1.0 out of 5 stars give this one a pass, August 26, 2006
By Essex (Connecticut) - See all my reviews

Purchased two books by Asa Hershoff on the recommendation of a Homeopath: Homeopathy for Musculoskeletal Healing & Homeopathic Remedies: A Quick and Easy Guide to Common Disorders and Their Homeopathic Treatments

Excellent books. Must reads for those involved in homeopathy.

Saw Jane Cicchetti's book and decided to toss it in my basket with the other two. A mistake.

Jane Cicchetti has no knowledge of classical or medieval history. Her prejudices and sweeping generalities make you sit there and think, "How did this person ever get published?"
