5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK!, July 31, 2000
By Diane Taylor (Grand Terrace, California, USA) - See all my reviews
I picked up Knight Fall a long time ago and I couldn't put it down! It has it's fair share of twists and turns in the plot line. It's great. Being a member of the SCA and knowing the layout of the War mentioned makes it even more entertaining. The way Marie Pulver brought everything together was absolutely fantastic. It had plot twists, it had excitement, and it was truly a fun book to read. I highly reccomend reading it again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly fun read, June 20, 1999
By A Customer
I have read this book under it's original title Murder at the War. It is a wonderfully funny mystery that will be enjoyed by even those who are not familiar with living history groups such as the Society for Creative Anachronism. I nearly laughed myself sick when the king had his run in with the local police. And the author does keep you guessing about who did it. It is a book I would recommend to my mystery loving friends. It is really too bad it is out of print.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay mystery, interesting characters, January 16, 1999
By A Customer
Knight Fall is a murder mystery set in the SCA, Society of Creative Anachronism, a society for people who like to play at living in the Middle Ages.

The detective part of the book works well, but no more than that. I am not sure I would recommend this book to mystery buffs. I would, however, recommend this book to all people who are interested by the SCA. All the weirdness and fun that is the SCA is aptly described in this book, from the Great Dark Horde, the "motorcycle gang" of the SCA, to the rivalry between SCA fighters and SCA historians. Don't take the book to seriously, though - this is one person's vision of the SCA, and it probably does not hold true for all. I have been a member of SCA in Sweden, though, and I had great fun reading the book.
