Product Description
Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4 is a lot more than just the most advanced World Wide Web browser you can find. It's a whole new way to link your computer directly to the Internet, and it's available free from Microsoft's Web site. Internet Explorer 4 Jumpstart™ for Windows® 95 tells you all you need to know to download the most current version and then install and configure it for your Windows 95 PC. Learn how to use Explorer 4's unique blending of browser and desktop so that you can search your local drive, LAN, and the Web with the same look and tools.

The book's Quick Start section tours the entire Explorer package and shows you what each menu and toolbar means. It also explains the best ways to arrange files on your hard drive and LAN so that you can find and share data quickly and easily. The glossary explains all the critical Explorer, Internet, and networking terms you may encounter as you expand your browsing horizons. New features bring new opportunities: use NetMeeting to share applications and videoconference; NetShow for Internet and intranet broadcasts; FrontPad for basic Web authoring; and Outlook Express as an e-mail and news client.

2.0 out of 5 stars Careful! This book was written from the beta release!, November 25, 1997
By A Customer
The style and content of the book are just fine, but it was written from the beta version of IE4, and quite a bit changed between the beta and the final release. For instance, this book discusses something called FrontPad, which turned out to be Front Page Express. You would be better off with something written to the release version.
