Product Description

How to rebuild your life after he's betrayed you!

Sexual betrayal is one of the most devastating experiences anyone can face. It can send your emotions on a roller coaster ride of shock, outrage, anger, depression, and hopelessness.

Having endured this trauma herself, Dr. Riki Robbins uses her firsthand experience to show you how you can successfully live through betrayal. In Betrayed!, she offers invaluable advice on dealing with every aspect of betrayal-from confirming the betrayal, to deciding whether to rebuild the relationship, to renewing your ability to trust with a new partner. Most importantly, she shows you how to use the experience to help yourself: to discover what you're looking for in a partner, and to learn how you can change to make your relationship-or future relationships-more satisfying.

Dr. Robbins also gives you expert advice on how to:
Confront your betrayer and get him to talk to you
Get the support you need from family and friends
Talk to your children about what has happened
Rebuild your self-image and learn to trust again

Whether your relationship survives betrayal or not, Betrayed! will help you pick up the pieces, learn to forgive, and finally begin to heal.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great book for those asking, "why me", September 20, 1999
By A Customer
This book reviews the whys, hows, and players involved in the betrayal. I found it interesting to view the situation from all 3 prospectives. I've learned so much in the last month and this book has helped me begin the process of healing. I wished I could have read it before things had deteriorated but better late than never. It makes you asks probing questions of yourself and really begin to think your whole situation through. I recommend this book to those lost after a betrayal, it helps you know that you are strong, resourceful and appreciate what you do have. One thing that is is me and good friends. You too can survive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable resource for a painful experience, February 1, 2003
By A Customer
I read this book after a mega-betrayal. It was recommended by my counselor and I found it to be incredibly insightful, thought provoking, helpful, and a source of great comfort. Betrayal is an awful topic and this author really "gets down" into the depths of the bad feelings the Victim experiences. She describes the point of view of the Betrayer and the Accomplice in a very helpful way. Nothing can take away the hurt, but this book does help you understand it better and not take the depths of the pain so completely personally. There are many who have been betrayed and many more in the future who will be as well. Like another reviewer, I wish I had read it about two years ago before my Betrayer set about destroying a 33 year marriage with his behavior. This is the kind of book you can read and re-read and always find something valuable. Another really helpful aspect of the book is the road to healing she lays out and how she addresses how to ever trust another human being in a sexual way again. So many books I've read in the past months have not really grappled with the depth of this issue, this one really does. If you need to read this book because you have been betrayed you have my sympathy. Buy this book, it will help.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very sexist, July 19, 2006
By FairnessForAll (New Zealand) - See all my reviews
This author seems to have a very narrow point of view. She writes from the stance that men betray women, and women are just victims. This is a very narrow minded and sexist way to view the world and I would expect a little more intelligence from somebody that claims to have a ph.D. Her attitude is simply promoting sexism in a world that already suffers from too much discrimination. She is encouraging us to think badly of men, and painting a picture of women as being quite helpless. Sexist attitudes like this need to be spoken out against and these narrow minded people should be encouraged to think a little more about the impact that their attitude has on others.
