4.0 out of 5 stars Quilters' delight, May 22, 2006
By Linda "katknit" (CT, United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
If you are a lover of quilts, old or new, you owe it to yourself to read Northern Comfort, a very thorough overview of early American quilters and their lovely works of folk art. The photos are wonderful, as are the real life stories about the women who labored with love to help their families keep warm in the days long before central heating. Lynne Bassett is an authority in the field of historic textiles, and is well respected as a researcher and writer. Keep this book close to hand for inspiration and just for the pleasure of browsing through it at your leisure.

I recently bought this book for my Mom, an avid quilting fanatic, and she absolutely loved it. She used words like "Magical" and "Wonderful"
