Product Description

The activities and techniques outlined in this book will teach you to communicate clearly, correctly, and concisely; format documents for maximum impact; use shirtsleeve English to get your point across; tailor your communication to different learning styles; and simplify your messages to ensure they will get read. Paring your writing down to a distinct and concise message makes a huge difference in what your reader pays attention to and retains. You will learn critical skills for delivering messages with impact, such as constructing eye-catching subject lines and using parallel construction.

Learning Objectives: To introduce the reader to the principles of Shirtsleeve English. To empower the reader's writing by using verbs. To update the reader's style by keeping things short and simple. To deploy information on the page for the reader's eye.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fat-Free Writing, March 12, 2009
This is a very interesting book. I took a lot of tests and compared with author's suggested responses to the exercises. It was very surprised. I tried to think the way of author's suggestion, so I cut in half or more my writing. It was really so difficult, but I was impressed. The book is not annoying, like many textbooks. I would say that I obtained some knowledge of studying this book. I think my writing is gradually getting much less of fat and more precise.
Thank author Carol Andrus for the wonderful book.
Yana.
