Unfounded Loyalty offers a profound look at the influences that have shaped the cultural development of modern Black America. The book reexamines historic assumptions about the role of Christianity and the Democratic Party as supporters of civil-rights and black voters. 5.0 out of 5 stars ENLIGHTENED READER, June 17, 2003
By HATTIE M GREENHOUSE (Long Beach, California) - See all my reviews
Traditionally, Blacks have voted for the Democratic Party based on the assumption that it was the party that "looked out" for Blacks. While that may have been the truth at one time, it no longer exists and hasn't for many years. Mr. Perryman's book, Unfounded Loyalty, exposes, facts, figures, and incidences which prove that the Democratic Party has actually suppressed the Black race, and informs the reader of advantages gained via the Republican Party. This is done in an easy-to-read, nondogmatic style. I highly recommed this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, June 20, 2003
By Alice Earlywine (Federal Way, Wa. USA) - See all my reviews
Wayne Perryman has written a great book full of facts not fiction. It has been done in a very scholarly manner and would make a great text book for a black history class. He looks at history through non-prejudiced eyes. This book is a must read for ALL AMERICANS. If you are honest and desire to know the truth you will find it in this book. Wayne looks back at what has happened for several decades to show the negative impact of the democratic party on the black people in our country. The freedom they have long sought for and think they have is not always what it seems to be. Wayne does not hold any punches, but in a very fair alalytical way tells the truth. I hope many are set free by reading this truth. I believe this is a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unfounded Loyalty: The Book that sets it all straight, June 9, 2003
By Xola Malik (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
A book for the ages. There have been many people whom have stood up and pointed out misdeeds, injustices, and false representation. Sometimes these people face tremendous trial and trouble, especially when they probe deep into the fibers of the tightly woven fabric of such a lukerative and powerful institution as the Democratic Party. Mr. Perryman as an author takes a very unique approach at exposing very disturbing truths deeply hidden in the history of the Democratic Party. This thought provoking book is going to stir up a lot of controversy and trouble, and put Mr. Wayne Perryman in the hot seat. And rightfully so, how dare a man bring forth the notion that the Democratic Party has been anything but good to African American people? Truth is truth, Mr. Perryman's accurate research brings out the hard hitting facts. Read this book, get informed, and decide where your loyalty should be. In order to understand the tendencies of an institution, you must understand its origination. My eyes are further opened, this is a MUST READ for every person of all nationalities and political background. History and knowledge know no color or political party. Get to the truth.
