From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 2-- In this wordless tale, a young man sets out in his boat to play his bagpipes in privacy on the sea. His piping calls up a remarkable fish who can mimic the notes of music. Harry scoops him up in a bucket and takes him home, where the two entertain the village on the street and in the pub. The fish's fame comes to the attention of a theatrical promoter, who carries the pair away in his Rolls Royce, heading toward life on the stage. But on opening night, the fish is afflicted with a stunning dose of stage fright, until Harry coaxes him with a song on the pipes. All live happily ever after. All the action is conveyed through comic-strip pictures and panels in cheerfully muted shades and a few musical notations. A jolly but additional selection. --Ruth Semrau, Lovejoy School, Allen, TX
