PreSchool-K. A concept book about the many ways we use our hands. The gentle, loving tone is carried out through brightly colored illustrations of cut-paper collage and tempera. Frequent use of alliteration lends a poetic touch to the text. A diverse range of activities is described on double-page spreads. For example, "Creative hands/squiggle/through/finger paints/and leave/pretty prints/behind" is accompanied by a picture of two children set against a collage of newspaper and cut paper with evidence of squiggles aplenty. "Loving hands/join with/promising hands/to link/their lives/together" is illustrated with a backdrop of lace and flowers in a wedding scene.
