From Library Journal
Powell, translator of Meditations on the Tarot and author of The Christ Mystery, brings an anthroposophic perspective to the feminine principle of the divine. While in the best anthroposophical manner Powell makes his subject somewhat elusive, it is clear enough that he finds evidence of the importance of divine and female Wisdom, East and West, ancient and contemporary. For larger collections, where there is strong interest in women's issues in religion.

From AudioFile
In a lecture format, Robert Powell, the co-founder of The Sophia Foundation of North America, presents his own synthesis of the Sophia, or Wisdom, literature through the ages. He draws on religious traditions throughout the world, as he guides the listener into this mystical subject. There is a great deal of material that needs to be unraveled here, inviting the listener to return again and again to the tapes. In his gentle, scholarly way, Powell suggests some practices to help the beginner, but, for the most part, this series of lectures will mean most to those who have some knowledge of the subject and a willingness to make tangential connections across time, space, religions and New Age philosophies.
