5.0 out of 5 stars Going It Alone: Meeting the Challenges of Being a Single Mom, July 14, 2000
By Ann Kroeker (Carmel, IN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Going It Alone: Meeting the Challenges of Being a Single Mom (Paperback)
Michele Howe has drawn from the insight of single moms dealing firsthand with a broad range of issues to create _Going It Alone_. In her warm, understanding tone, Howe has given readers an excellent resource packaged in a quick read. She offers hope and vision for building confidence in one's single parenting situation, tackling such sensitive issues as sex education and blending families as well as finding personal fulfillment. Readers will appreciate the plentiful resources found in each chapter and in the appendix. After reading _Going It Alone_, you'll feel you're NOT alone at all: The single moms profiled in the book as well as Michele Howe herself will seem to be friends and fellow travelers along this tough road. An excellent book for any mom facing single parenting!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, February 21, 2006
This review is from: Going It Alone: Meeting the Challenges of Being a Single Mom (Paperback)
You know, I was disappointed in this book. I read the reviews and thought it was going to be great, but it wasn't. This book is geared towards women who are older and have been married a long time, mostly stay-at-home-moms, who found themselves, all of a sudden, divorced and forced to go out and work. I recommend it for those women; not for younger, single moms. Young single moms who are already working full time jobs & raising children know the stuff in this book already.

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical hope, September 15, 2000
By donnie meyers (Temperance, MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Going It Alone: Meeting the Challenges of Being a Single Mom (Paperback)
This book provides single moms with upbeat, hopeful, and simple ideas to help better parent their children through times of crisis as well at the ups and downs of everyday life. Although it's targeted at the single mother, married moms and dads will find sound biblical advice from the beginning to end. Going It Alone helps single moms realize they're not alone at all!
