Grade 2-6-Four titles that look at the cooperative and creative efforts of successful pairs in business, politics, entertainment, and exploration. In addition to an enjoyable description of the partnerships, the books also give limited coverage of the individuals' early lives, important influences and compromises, and their contributions toward mutual goals. Large-print texts are separated by bold subtitles; they are all written in a clear and engaging manner with plenty of (unfortunately undocumented) quotes. Most double-page spreads have a colorful graphic or average-quality, full-color illustration. Bill Hanna & Joe Barbera also includes examples of a few of the pairs' popular cartoons. That volume and Ben & Jerry hold the most child appeal. Matthew Henson & Robert Peary is worthwhile for its presentation of the roles of both men in the polar expedition and the historical context it provides.
