Product Description

Think about the many different things you do with your hands each day: eating, writing, gesturing, caressing a loved one. Now take a close look at your hand. Is your palm round or square? The shape reveals your instinctive reactions to life. Square hands are generally "thinkers," while round hands are more likely to be "feelers." Are your fingers short and plump or long and thin? Your fingers reveal how you approach the world around you.

The hand is the visible agent of the brain—an extension of the mind—and through our hands we manipulate the world around us. Our hands reflect our moods and thoughts. Over time, through habitual mannerisms and gestures, our unique personalities are recorded on our hands.

Runic Palmistry describes a system of palm reading handed down orally through the women of four generations of the author's family. In this system, lines of the palm are called "branches" and the mounts of the palm are named after Norse deities. This unique book will show you how to:

• Find runic symbols within the palm and discover how to tell which ones are active at any given time in a person's life.
• Combine palm reading with a runecast to provide a complete picture of someone's past, present, and future.
• Discover the meanings of the 24 runic symbols, how to construct your own set of runes, and how to handle them to respect their energies.

Those new to palmistry will find that Runic Palmistry provides a complete and detailed system for accurate readings. Experienced palmists will discover valuable new insights into the way symbols work in the hand.

In the following excerpt, author Jon St. Germain describes how he developed Runic Palmistry based on his family's unique traditions.

Knowing that the techniques and traditions I had learned had been passed down in my family for generations, I became very curious about the origins of our unusual palmistry system. I remembered the stories my grandmother told about the Norse gods and heroes. Where had she learned them? Unfortunately, Grandma had passed away years before and couldn't answer my questions.

All I knew for sure was that my family possessed a hitherto unknown method of reading palms based on ancient Norse divination techniques. The origins of this system appeared to be lost in the mists of time. Since I couldn't find any reference to the Norse Palmistry system anywhere else, I decided to take the scraps of information and record them, before they were lost forever.

When runestones (an ancient Norse method of divination) became available to the public I began incorporating runecats into Norse palmistry readings. The two seemed to go hand in hand, so I gave a set of runestones to my Aunt Eliza for her 96th birthday. She seemed delighted with her new toys and immediately threw herself into studying them.

A few months later I received a letter from Aunt Eliza containing many pages of notes and drawings. She had discovered the Runic symbols could be found in the palm of the hand itself. This breakthrough, the most important component of Runic palmistry, came as a natural evolution of the family tradition! The last piece had fallen into place. Thanks to Aunt Eliza's observation, I've seen that almost everyone has Runes hidden in their hands.

About the Author

Jon Saint-Germain (Indiana) is a professional palm reader who grew up in a family of psychic readers. He appears at corporate events, on the radio, and elsewhere. His extensive knowledge of magick and the occult led him to become a consultant for the Learning Channel.  He is the author of Palmistry 101 and Runic Palmistry.

Saint-Germain's interest in palm reading began when he was just six years old.  Having learned the ancient art from his mother and grandmother, he soon realized that his family's palm reading techniques were far different from traditional methods.  He set out on a quest to find the origins of their palm reading system, and what he found was a mystery-it had been passed down to them generations ago by a Scandinavian friend of the family.  But who this person was remains unclear even today, despite the digging he and his family have done.

Saint-Germain began to incorporate Norse runestones into his palm reading technique.  "The two seemed to go hand in hand, so I gave a set of runestones to Aunt Eliza

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book, July 28, 2001
By A Customer
I have a large library of palmistry books, and seldom buy a new one nowadays, as most of them are rehashes of older books. Consequently, I was delighted and surprised to discover "Runic Palmistry", which looks at the subject in a completely different way. The author writes well, and includes some delightful anecdotes to help illustrate the different points he wishes to make. The book is a joy to read, and easy to learn from. It's exactly as if Mr St. Germain was sitting down with you talking about runic palmistry. I found it fascinating, informative, and unputdownable. The author will not remember me, but many years ago he read my palm. Afterwards I told him he should write a book as he was so incredibly accurate in everything he told me. I am thrilled that he has finally done it. If you are even remotely interested in palmistry, or want to learn about a little-known system that is incredibly insightful, you need this book. I will be referring to this book often, along with the classic texts of William Benham, Fred Gettings, Ron Martin and Richard Webster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some traditions are passed on..., July 7, 2003
By "evildan666" (Old Bridge, NJ United States) - See all my reviews
...verbally from teacher to student. I first learned to read palms from my grandmother based on a Russian Gypsy tradition.

Some traditions are lucky enough to make it into print. This book helped expand my knowledge base immensely. It was also an adventure comparing notes between Jon's learning and my own. This book is very well written and clearly understandable without all the techno-babble found in a lot of others. Clearly a book within grasp of the average reader.

Jon's method of blending the two disciplines of Runes and Palmistry is fascinating as well as informative. There are those nay sayers that say it can't or shouldn't be done. But remember, until it was proven and accepted, there were those that swore the world was flat. My world is round, how's yours?

A great book, a great read, a great author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, October 25, 2002
This is an excellent book and got me hooked on this fascinating subject. I always considered palmistry a bit of "smoking mirror" trickery, but was convinced otherwise.
The text is easy to read, easy to understand and well written, which kept me interested. Unlike other books on subjects of magick and divination, etc. that were either too technical or dull, this one allows to stay focused and fascinated.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in palmistry and the runes.
