Though the Victorians often tended toward darker colors, some of the photos are a bit too dark, but the intriguing details still manage to shine through.

This book was perfect. I am in the process of remolding my house and I am totally fascinated with Victorian style. This book gave me so many ideas and inspirations to work with. If you are as facinated with the Victorian Era as I am this book is for you. This book gives everything you will need to start your decorating process. The pictures are perfect, the information in this book is so helpful. The book outlines important details from the era to help you with your decorating. I can not stress enough on how much this book helped me and I know it will help you also.

The cover-to-cover, color, photos are outstanding! I purchased two of Ellen M. Plante's books and was delighted with both of them, this one and "The Victorian Home" - be sure to get that one as well. She did a wonderful job on both books and I am hoping to collect more written by her. I feel confident about decorating in true victorian style after viewing her material.
