Scientist Ben Candidi would like nothing better than to escort his soul mate, Dr. Rebecca Levis, on her Amazon expedition to provide medical care to a nearly extinct tribe. But there's no room for him there, and besides, he needs to return to his laboratory in Miami to complete his project of studying how new technology can aid in drug development. You would think that his research back in the States would be mundane compared to the Amazon, but when it comes to Ben, who's starring in his fourth adventure, excitement is never far away. First there's an unannounced visit from the DEA followed by a serious fracas at an industry conference, where Ben averts an assassination attempt on the keynote speaker. All the while, transmittals from Rebecca come less frequently and with less passion than Ben would like, and his research leads to startling conclusions that have him fearing for both their lives.
