Photoshop 4 Type Magic 1 is a cookbook for creating effects with type and fonts in graphics. I confess that I am a complete sucker for such gadgetry, and find this book an absolute must-have. It offers 45 specialty type effects including flaming type, chrome, chiseled, beveled, and neon. You'll recognize many of these as the standard fare of graphical typeface all over the World Wide Web. Each effect is precisely documented in carefully laid-out sequence and is equally applicable for Mac and PC users of Photoshop. Some effects that can be enhanced with the use of filters and third-party plug-ins to Photoshop are discussed in alternative versions. The enclosed CD-ROM includes a generous sampling of plug-ins, presets that can be used in Photoshop directly, plus clip art and stock photography samplers.
