Refreshing, intellectual, and quite intriguing! This is a book I pride myself on having in my library, and lending out to friends. -- Review

Product Description

A unique collection of essays on living, dying, and everything in between. Explores issues which others tend to shy away from, in a subtle, skillfully worded way. These pieces will sadden, gladden, and give much food for thought.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't you know you should read this incredible book?, May 30, 1999
By A Customer
Rarely do I find a book that pulls me forward like a friend. Even more rare is to discover that such a book was written by a traditional Orthodox Jew. Sarah Shapiro has written essays that capture the subtlety and ambiguity of human existense to such an extent that your life may actually change after reading this book. Among the many issues she touches on in her wonderful essays and beautiful poems are child-parent relationships. As a youngest child myself, I related to her perspective very strongly. But I can't imagine anyone not being touched by these pieces. There is one secret about this author that I don't want to give away, but which you will discover shortly after opening the book: she is the daughter of a prominent man. If you wonder who her father was, or even more so, if you want to hear what it's like to be labeled as someone's kid, you don't want to miss this book.

In conclusion, I hope that people discover this amazing book. Until further notice it holds first place on my list of personal favorites! Don't you know it's a perfect world?
