5.0 out of 5 stars Prelude to Glory: The Impending Storm, July 7, 2009

The whole series of books are fabulous!! I love learning more about the Revolutionary War era and Mr. Carter was very good at doing research on this subject. He makes it very interesting adding fictitional families to create human interest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Series, April 2, 2007

I enjoy these books and have learned a lot about the American Revolution. There is some repetition in the books, but for the most part they are good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well-researched series, January 15, 2007
I have read all the books in this well researched series and have enjoyed them all. However, the author really likes to "refresh the reader's memory". As the series progresses, it becomes more hindersome to the storyline when the characters "remember" what happened several books ago. It can take up several pages at a time with things that you already read. I have begun just skimming though those parts in order to jump ahead to the new stuff.
In the first couple of books in the series, I really enjoyed reading the notes, as they provided extra information about the time period that was not included in the story. However, in this book the notes are mostly just source information and again, what happened in the previous books in the series.
If you want to learn more about the Revolutionary War and the building of the American Nation, I would recommend this series.
