A lot has been added to Volume 2 of Wild Africa over what we found on Volume 1 (CD-ROM Reviews, LJ 10/15/95). Rather than just three sections on the main menu (Visual Tour, Locations, Field Guide), there are now six: Movie Tour (replacing and enhancing the Visual Tour with a 30-minute documentary), Parks (maps of parks and major roads), Slide Show (create your own), Field Guide (of over 150 birds and mammals), Reference, and Travel (updated travel information is available online at the Sumeria web site). The Reference section is particularly rich, covering information on "how to get there," recommended books, how to outfit your safari, lodges/places to stay, "health concerns." The same control bar is always available on screen right, giving you access to the aforementioned sections plus printing and exporting information. Bottom Line: Whether you are actually planning a trip or you just enjoy contemplating travel to exotic locales, you'll be amazed at the amount of information and entertainment packed onto this disc. Highly recommended at this price for personal collections and public libraries.
