Product Description

6 x 8, Relationships/Self-Help

Successful dating is not the same as a successful relationship. Before you can find the love of your life, you have to get past the first date. With not-so-subtle wit and humor, Cohen and Muskat offer all the advice that your best friend should have told you about, including:

--getting (and succeeding at) the first date
--meeting interesting people
--learning to make the first move
--knowing what not to do on a date
--defining sexual boundaries

Yes, it's scary. Yes, it's difficult. Yes, it can be depressing. But Dating will show you how to make it less frightening and more exciting, how to make it easier and more relaxed, and most of all, how to have a good time!

About the Author

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great read - even if you're married!, February 8, 2000
By Melissa Kettner (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dating: A Singles Guide to a Fun, Flirtatious and Possibly Meaningful Social Life (Paperback)
I bought this book as a gift for my single friends, but ended up reading it first. I've been married and in a relationship for 10 years but the anectodes and survey questions in this book brought back memories (both good and bad) of my dating years (and I had many of those!). Not only is this book funny and entertaining, it really provides great advice! What's especially great about this book is the fact that it's not just written by "experts". The stories and advice come from over 500 real people who have experienced both dream and nightmare dates. I think this book is a must read for anyone entering or re-entering the dating scene. Even if you're in a relationship, this book will make you chuckle (even holler) as you read about your own experiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Goodbye Slump. Hello Excitement!, January 31, 2000
By Heather George (San Francisco, Ca) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dating: A Singles Guide to a Fun, Flirtatious and Possibly Meaningful Social Life (Paperback)
For the last several years, I have been dating my couch exclusively. I have been hesitant to even enter the dating world again as I never seem to get it right.

Having read Dating: A singles guide to a fun, flirtatious, and possibly meanful social life, i am ready to get up off of my couch and give dating a shot.

This step by step book takes me from initiating eye contact all the way through the end of the date. How could I ask for more? A detailed guideof what to say and not say, what to wear, and even how to prepare makes dating seem so much easier.

I am ready to tackle the dating world. Watch out men- here I come!

5.0 out of 5 stars RELEVANT ADVICE WITH SPIRIT, March 4, 2001
By "margs21" (Taylor, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dating: A Singles Guide to a Fun, Flirtatious and Possibly Meaningful Social Life (Paperback)
I would recommend this book to all singles who want to date. This book was refreshing, easy to read, and informative. The writing style is fun: You want to continue reading and even take notes or copy some suggestions for dating conversations, etc. This book listed many ideas that I had written in a notebook when reviewing my single lifestyle and what I was looking for in a date/perspective date. Enjoyed the book a lot.

I like the chapters dealing with sex/physical attraction and ice breakers. The authors writing styles makes these sometines hard-to-discuss queries so easy to understand/discuss/face before dating.
