4.0 out of 5 stars Title a bit overstated, March 26, 2007
I LOVE this book, it will definitely stay on my shelf and I highly recommend people to read this as a basic primer for nonviolence.

This book does more to highlight differences in nonviolence approaches by certain leaders, and gives enough depth without getting boring or too involved.

It does not really expound upon American ideals or Americanism or the such, if that is what you are looking for, but in the conclusion (and randomly throughout the book he hints at) how America has been effected by or has not been affected by nonviolent efforts.
