Again teaming with still-life photographer Baldwin, Connolly illustrates his text with 194 lush color photos of bouquets, headdresses, buttonholes, centerpieces, and other floral wedding decorations. Divided into chapters on Classic, Romantic, and Alternative styles, the book describes floral themes for the wedding party and the reception that range from fantasy to practical, from elaborate to minimalist. Throughout, Connolly offers practical suggestions for the wedding day and concludes with a two-page summary of tips. In addition to an index of terms, Connolly has included an index of the flowers, herbs, and other natural materials he used, by season, to simplify selection. I was slightly disappointed by this book. I expected more realistic arrangements with flare that might help those on a tight budget. The pictures however were extrodinary and they did help in my choices as to what flower photgraphs well. If you are planning an outdoor wedding with a big budget. . .this book is for you. For those of you like me, on a tight budget and an indoor wedding, I wouldn't recommend this particular book.

I bought this book looking for inspiring ideas for wedding flowers - I was NOT disappointed. This book is perfect for the bride-to-be who is sick to death of boring, uninnovative floral arrangements. The pictures are stunning and inspiring, and the book gives lots of detail overall. The book cover reveals that Mr. Connolly has been featured in Vogue - it is not hard to see why. This is definately the best wedding related purchase I've made so far!

Contrary to the one other reviewer of this book, I was very dissappointed. I want a traditional wedding with a flare. This book shows very out of the ordinary flower ideas that everyday people will not and cannot use. However, the book does show a few nice 'flowers in your hair' ideas, but for the price of this un-inspiring book, it is Not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere.
