About the Author

Harvey Gellman was the first Canadian to receive a Ph.D. in computer science, graduating in 1951. He was involved in the purchase of the first computer and ran the first computer program in Canada. Over the past 42 years, he has become known as the dean of computer consulting, co-founding a major Canadian computer consulting firm, Gellman, Hayward & Partners, now part of the CGI Group. He currently works primarily in the area of information strategy and information warehousing.

Alistair Davidson and Mary Chung are the founders of Alacrity Inc., a strategic consulting firm that also develops management-oriented decision support software and simulation-based training programs. From their initial product in 1985, the first application of artificial intelligence to strategic planning, to their latest product, Alacrity Results Management(, they have specialized in helping organizations improve their performance.
