About the Author

OSWALD CHAMBERS (1874-1917) was the son of a Scottish Baptist pastor and was converted under the ministry of Charles H Spurgeon. Following formal theological training in Scotland, he traveled throughout the United Kingdom, the Far East, and the United States, lecturing on the Scriptures. In 1911, he founded the Bible Training Center in Clapham, London. He died in Egypt in 1917. His wife, a stenographer, compiled his books from his lectures and published them after his death. My Utmost for His Highest has become an international best-seller.

This is a beautiful daily devotional with simple, straight-forward messages that stir your soul. Several years ago I had heard that this book is President George W. Bush's favorite. I always meant to check it out, but never did until I went shopping one day and saw it on sale. I bought one, and I love it so much I bought 2 more to give to my friends.
