From Library Journal
Passages in this audio are drawn from a daily meditation book written for women participating in 12-step recovery programs. In the book, an entry for each day of the year contains a quotation, a 150- to 200-word passage that complements the quotation, and a concluding affirmation. A wide variety of subjects are explored including perfectionism, depression, living fully, choices, and closeness to God. The audio version offers select passages, sometimes grouping them with like themes. However, because the daily quotation and concluding affirmations are often left out, the original structure of the passages is lost. Those with different themes flow together, resulting in a rather muddled listening experience. Narrator Kitt Weagant has a pleasant voice, but she is unable to bring cohesion to the disjointed text. Also, 12-step program language is used throughout, possibly limiting the appeal of this work. Recommended only for collections that support these kinds of programs.ABeth Farrell, Portage Cty. Dist.
