Most Helpful Customer Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars helpful, April 3, 2009
By Jack L. Tofari (Baoding, Hebei, China) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've been teaching English in China for 12 years now and love to get my hands on books like this. My Chinese students don't need to be told anything about their own country but when confronted with information from this book they get absorbed in reading the material and then translating it back into their own language.

I often pass out books to my students to motivate their interest in learning English but I always have to ask for this one at the end of two hours of class. Most other books and magazines wind up on my podium long before that.

We always get into some good conversations as my students like to comment on the accuracy of the book. It's a keeper.
