Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Grade 2-5-These books offer the same information on different reading levels. Both include a basic introduction to the history, geography, society, economy, and the culture of Puerto Rico. Even the graphics and photos are identical, although the reading level of the captions is a little different. The "A Ticket to" series is for primary-grade readers; the entry in the "Globe-trotters Club" series is for grades three to five, and its sidebars have a more advanced writing style. Neither book includes natural areas/historic sites, cultural institutions, annual events, lists of famous people, Web sites, or places to contact for further information. However, both titles are suitable for beginning report writers. For more in-depth coverage of Puerto Rico, the "Hello U.S.A." series (Lerner) and "America the Beautiful" series (Children's) are better choices.
