Product Description
A companion piece to 'Eve's Diary", "Extracts from Adam's Diary", was first published in a souvenir book for the 1893 Buffalo Pan-American Exposition. This version placed the Garden of Eden at Niagara Falls. In 1904 the book was published with the illustrations of Fredrick Strothmann. This book is based on this version which retains the Niagara Falls references.
Twain later rewrote this work without the Niagara Falls references but that version never was as well liked as the original.
The Quiet Vision copy of this book includes all 40 plus illustrations from the 1904 version.
"Extracts from Adam's Diary" is typical Twain's humor. This work along with "Eve's Diary" are unique among Twain's work in that the illustrations are of equal importance to the text.
