Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Its tragedy summons all sufferers. Its hope lures all searchers. No one can ignore the cross. In this compelling quest for the Messiah, Lucado invites readers to meet the blue-collar Jew whose claim altered a world and whose promise has never been equaled. No Wonder They Call Him the Savior! "Do you know Him?" Lucado asks his readers. Really know Him? They will when Lucado brings them full circle to the foot of the cross-even if they've been there before. Because now they can see how it all comes down to this one place. To this one death. To this one Life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guarenteed to bring you closer to Christ!, August 9, 1997
By A Customer
If you read this book you WILL share it with someone else! I have read this book over and over. I have shared chapters in workshops and in groups. I read aloud to myself. It will touch the heart of everyone who reads it...you'll feel as if you were there. You feel what the crowds felt. You cry. You're thankful. You know you're blessed. It connects to you personally. What Max Lucado has done with this book is definitely spiritual. No one who reads this will go untouched. Feeling low? Does Christ seem distant? Need a boost to want to read the greatest book ever (The Bible)? Start with this book and you'll get a thurst you weren't expecting. After reading this you'll say, "No wonder they call Him the Savior!" Thanks Max Lucado

What an awesome work of art. The telling of Christs life and the comparison to our lives today was riviting. This is a book that won't stay on your shelf long because you'll want to lend it out to all of your friends, Christian or otherwise.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Powerful Drama, a Beautiful Life, a Glorious Hope Provided, November 14, 2000
By Frank Robertson (Greenville, SC United States) - See all my reviews
Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of God, He is and shall always be the only way to the Lord. Buddha cannot help you, the New Age "Goddess" or "God within" cannot help you. Only through the realization that you are (and I am) a sinner, and that you/I need Jesus to set us free, can there be a true road to salvation.

Yet it is more than just that. The story of the people, Peter, Judas, John the Beloved One; the story of the places, the crosses on the hill, the upper room, the field of blood (where Judas committed suicide)...those are many people and many places we in our own lives face...

We also face the hardship of loneliness...like Jesus in the Garden...we also face the hardship of having to continue on with our work...hoping to say "it is finished" like Jesus spoke loud and proud on the Cross...through this wonderful spiritual book on the truth of our Savior...let us follow Jesus Christ, take up our crosses and follow our Lord...let His every day examples (shown in this book) be a reminder that He is indeed the great and loving Shepherd to us...

5.0 out of 5 stars What an awesome book!
This book truly shows the power and "awesomeness" of our Lord and Savior. I think everyone, young and old, should have a chance to read it at least once.
